Join our hike and ride freeride camp with three-time runner-up world champion and snowboarding legend Flo Orley as your coach! The camp is all about teaching you how to get the most fun out of your ride – while staying safe, as the passion to ride untouched fresh powder turns doesn’t always come risk-free.

How do I find the ‘perfect line’?
How do I improve my off-piste riding skills?
How do I behave in open terrain? 

Make the most out of your outdoor experience and profit from Flo’s 20+ years of experience in risk management and his comprehensive know-how on avalanches, weather, forecasts and snow conditions.

This is a No Rookie Camp! – Experienced Riding skills are required in order to gain high-level improvement through advanced professional coaching, Backcountry Safety Booster.

Location: Trattenbachalm, Salzburg (AT)

During our camp, all participants are accommodated together with Flo Orley in the rustic Trattenbachalm (also known as Rechtegger Alm or Trattenbach-Grundalm) at 1,718 meters above sea level.

 

We spend two nights there (including full board).

The Trattenbachalm is a managed mountain hut in the breathtaking panorama of the Kitzbühel Alps, which has been family-owned for 100 years.

Arrival & Transport

Meeting Point:

From there, we will hike up to the Trattenbach Alm all together. Splitboard or skitouring skis required!

Skidoos will transport your baggage and further equipment.

Schedule

Day 1

Get together:
+ Gasthof Rechtegg (8.30 am)
+ Easy hike up to the hut with splitboards
+ Arrival at lodge  (11.30 am)
+ Optimizing Equipment & Condition Check
+ Traditional Austrian lunch 
+ Easy afternoon hike to our first peak “Freimöserhorn”

 

Evening program:
+ Building a knowledge base on Splitboarding & Freeriding with Flo

+ Dinner

+ Risk Management, Backcountry Know-how and Experiences
+ Avalanche and Weather Forecast for the upcoming day

Day 2

+ Breakfast together
+ Mountain situation check and briefing
+ Main Hike of the day to “Kröndlhorn”
+ Traditional Austrian lunch at the hut
+ Chilltime
+ Second smaller hike to “Mitterkopf”

 

Evening Program:
+ Transceiver & Avalanche training, Snow Structures
+ Dinner
+ Building Kickers and learn/improve on tricks (optional)

Day 3

+ Breakfast together
+ Mountain situation check and briefing
+ Packing up
+ Tour up to PEAK 4
+ Team Pictures and selfies
+ Riding down from Trattenbach Alm back to Guest House Rechtegg
+ Farewell and Goodie Bags

Your coach: Flo Orley

Your coach is none other than three-time runner-up world champion and snowboard legend Flo Orley.

 

Benefit from his more than 20 years of experience in backcountry riding, risk management and finding the ‘perfect line’.

“In 2011,  I started to realize that I also have a lot of fun sharing my love and passion for the mountains with others. I became a certified snowboarding guide and in 2013 the dream of my own freeride center finally became reality.”

All cancellations after this date cannot be refunded.
